CAMPI supports first BOC-POB CICAC Meeting

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Batangas (POB) held the first local Customs Industry Consultative Advisory Council (CICAC) Meeting for 2026 back-to-back with the Top 10 Importers Recognition Ceremony on March 12, 2026 at Pontefino Hotel, Batangas City.

The CICAC is a platform for BOC and industry partners to discuss operational issues, trade facilitation and ease of doing business initiatives. CAMPI has been an active member of the CICAC, representing major automotive OEMs and advocating for streamlined and efficient customs processes. CAMPI President Jose Maria Atienza emphasized that POB is the main gateway for motor vehicle trade, further highlighting the importance of BOC-Industry collaboration.

District Collector Carmelita Talusan reported the strong 2025 revenue collection performance of BOC-POB, driven by motor vehicles and petroleum importation. Under her leadership, BOC-POB implemented initiatives aligned with the BOC Integrity, Accountability, and Modernization (IAM) Program.

The BOC-POB also recognized five (5) CAMPI members among the Top 10 importers in 2025: Toyota, Mitsubishi, Ford, Nissan and Suzuki.

Its CICAC activities support the “Industry Development Pillar” of CAMPI’s 4-Action Framework that advocates for manufacturing resilience and the improvement of the automotive business environment.
