(CAMPI) was recognized as one of the Environmental Sustainability Partners at the 2026 Gawad Kabalikat sa Kapaligiran of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB).

The EMB recognition acknowledges organizations and partners that demonstrate strong environmental performance, support sustainability initiatives, and uphold environmental regulations. The program highlights the importance of collaboration among government, industry, and communities in protecting natural resources and improving environmental quality.

For CAMPI, the recognition underscores the value of close coordination between regulators and the automotive sector in advancing national environmental goals while supporting responsible industry growth.

Sustainability is one of the strategic pillars supporting CAMPI’s vision of fostering mobility transition in the Philippines. It stands alongside Technology and Innovation, Vehicle and Road Safety, and Industry Development in serving as the organization’s framework to establish the automotive sector as a key industry with significant economic and societal contribution.

CAMPI advocates for a multi-pathway approach to carbon neutrality, guided by a technology-neutral strategy to ensure a balanced transition towards electrification. It also supports policy research for carbon-neutral fuels and sustainable and renewable energy. The organization aims to leverage its international partnerships and maximize industry dialogue to learn best practices and policy approaches toward promoting a circular economy in the automotive industry.

In support of CAMPI’s sustainability objectives, member companies continue to promote cleaner and more efficient vehicle technologies while enhancing sustainability practices within their operations. These efforts reflect a broader industry shift toward reducing environmental impact, improving resource efficiency, and maintaining strict compliance with environmental standards set by regulators.

Atty. Rhys Alexei Y. Murillo, Vice President of CAMPI, emphasized the significance of the recognition, stating that receiving the award is a milestone achievement for CAMPI and its member companies. He noted that sustainability remains an important pillar of the automotive industry and requires a shared blueprint for change.

CAMPI and its members expressed their appreciation to the Philippine Government, represented by the DENR, for the recognition which further motivates the industry to continue driving meaningful changes in support of environmental sustainability.

The recognition highlights the shared responsibility of both public and private sectors in addressing environmental challenges. As the country continues to pursue sustainable development, CAMPI reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening environmental governance within the automotive industry and supporting policies that drive meaningful and measurable impact.

Through continued innovation, collaboration, and responsible business practices, CAMPI and its member companies remain dedicated to contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future for the Philippines.
